David Thibault

DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHS

David Thibault, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHS, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist. He began his nursing career at Utah Tech University, completing his undergraduate studies while gaining valuable experience working with adolescents in residential treatment settings. David then spent several years working in various specialty areas within the in-patient hospital setting. These experiences deepened his passion for trauma-informed care and addressing the unique mental health needs of young people. He earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Duke University, specializing in Pediatric Mental and Behavioral Health, as well as a certificate in Nursing
Education.

He is dedicated to working with children and adolescents, particularly in managing conditions such as depression, ADHD, trauma disorders, and anxiety. His holistic approach focuses on addressing the whole person, combining medical care with an emphasis on overall well-being.

In addition to his clinical work, David serves as an assistant professor of nursing at Utah Tech University, where he teaches across various programs. He is also an active author and reviewer for peer-reviewed journals and has been selected to write on medication management for children and adolescents with trauma disorders, contributing to advancements in nursing and pediatric mental health. He is also an active member of several nursing organizations, including the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, the Utah Nurses Association, and the American Nurses Association.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, while also
cheering on the Duke Blue Devils and Utah Tech Trailblazers.
